The New Site is out

Here is the new drupal based site.

I pulled over all the accounts and forum posts from the old site (phpbb based).  I'll admit the drupal Forum is not quite as nice as the phpbb one but it has the basics and we are still learning to admin it so look for new features in the near future.

One issue you may notice is the bbcode in the old posts (oh well).

Recent comments lost?

Just logged in to the new site, and it appears that the more recent posts to the bulletin board didn't make it through the transition to the drupal based site. Is this correct, or am I missing something?

james

thought I grabbed them all

thought I grabbed them all except one where just serg and I were discussing a Ubuntu install. I'll check again

module to consider adding

i'm really stoked that the site has finally been moved. it's already way more usable than the old setup but i'm ready to offer up a list of improvements ;)

you should take a look at the bbcode.module to filter the bbcode left in old forum posts. personally, i'd like to see some form of wiki syntax allowed as well.

i hope you'll also consider enabling the tracker module it makes it easy to see if there are responses to anything you've posted.

I'll take a look at that but

I'll take a look at that but I think I'd rather convert all the old posts to html. Don't want to usr bbcode in the future (wysiwyg such as tinymce I think is a better choice). Then the posts and comments will be pure html which is more easily converted to other formats using something like xslt.

how about the tracker module

how about the tracker module though? to be fair, i edited the post to add that and it may have been after you already responded. on the drupal website the tracker is the first thing i check.

done

I was looking for something like that. Didn't realize it was a stock module.

thanks

forgot to mention

i forgot to mention that the new site looks great. would you care to write a little on the theme selection/modification process? that's going to be my next step on the drupal learning curve.

Thanks

Thanks, It is just a start, but I think Drupal gives us a lot of room to grow the site.
I'll try to get some docs posted of how the site was build. I'll also go over it a bit at the next meeting
