Feedback on my site before launch?

Hey,

After about 6 months of coding I'm about to launch this website I've been working on and I was wondering if anyone minds gives me some constructive criticism on it before it goes live? It kind of a digg/myspace/forum thing for social & political discussion, where the content is ranked on the user's votes: VocalNation.net

What seems unclear? any bugs? how do you think I can go about building a community with this thing?

I might have been just me, but it took me a few seconds to figure out where the vote option was. IMHO I think any voting tools should be as close to the article as possible. Looking for it in the right column was the 3rd or 4th place I looked. Other's wont look if they dont see it right away.
